Conférence / Recherche
On January 31, 2025
Saint-Martin-d'Hères - Domaine universitaire
We are excited to announce the next edition of Les Petits-Déjeuners de la Cybersécurité, taking place on Friday, January 31st, at 09:30 AM. The event will be held in the IMAG auditorium, located at 155 Place du Torrent, 38400 Saint-Martin-d'Hères.
This engaging morning session will feature two insightful presentations, each lasting approximately 20 minutes, followed by a Q&A session and informal discussions over coffee and croissants.
Program Highlights
1. Cybersecurity and the “Capitalism of Vulnerabilities”
This presentation aims to link cybersecurity issues with my research work. Recently, my research has focused on analyzing the contemporary form of a phase in capitalism, which I refer to as the "capitalism of vulnerabilities." Within this framework, cybersecurity issues arise through two main research areas:
- The securing of payment systems by central banks: The development of cryptocurrencies – some of which present themselves as "anti-system" – requires a redefinition of the methods for securing payment networks and, more broadly, the role of central banks;
- In the "capitalism of vulnerabilities," large multinational corporations (notably the GAFAM) hold market power not only within their specific segments but also in terms of the networks through which information flows. Major challenges for securing these networks then emerge, redefining the power dynamics between public and private actors in regulation.
2. The title and abstract of the second presentation will be published soon.
Language: Presentations will be delivered in French
